Hollywood Joins forces to protect Iconic Sign

Efforts to stop real estate developers buying land around the Hollywood Sign have raised 9 million dollars. The development of homes is viewed as disastrous to local wildlife habitats as well as ruining the view of the iconic Hollywood sign. 3 million is still needed before a deadline of April the 14th, but with donations from some of Hollywoods biggest names including Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and 20th Century Fox, the signs look good for Trust for Public Land, TPL, to raise the necessary fun More...

Science Center's Ecosystems Experience Opens on Thursday

Nearly 10 years in the making, the $165 million Ecosystems Experience opens Thursday with its one-of-a-kind view of the world at the California Science Center. And it's free. Plants, animals and do-it-yourself science take up nearly every inch of the two-story, 45,000-square-foot (4,180-sq. meter) exhibit in Exposition Park, south of downtown. Cart For A Cause

Cart For A Cause is a new a food-truck based fundraising initiative that serves gourmet meals crafted by the elite chefs of the Los Angeles culinary scene. Kicking it off is chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Executive Chef Alex Becker of Nobu West Hollywood.
